Xero Connect platform adds Uber for Business

This article was published on: 10th March 2020

*** Update 18/10/2023 *** Uber Connect is currently not appearing on the Xero Enterprise Connect webpage or in the Xero App Store.  Xero have recommended taking an alternative route with sending your information from Uber for Business to Xero. We are unsure why this is the case. *** End of update ***

Earlier this month Xero announced that the Uber for Business integration was live on the Xero Connect platform. Uber now joins other service providers such as BP, Caltex and Reece onto the platform. The platform allows Xero to receive invoices directly into Xero from suppliers.

Uber for Business allows businesses to receive a single monthly invoice for trips undertaken by employees during the month. Not having to process invoices, payments or reimbursements to employees for each trip they make cuts administration time.

Connecting Uber for Business to Xero allows for a single monthly invoice to be received directly into Xero.

Setting up Uber for Business in your Xero file

To set up Uber for Business in your Xero file you first need to set up an Uber for Business account. Once this is completed the Uber for Business app is downloaded by signing into Xero through the Uber for Business page on the Xero App Marketplace.

Each month thereafter Uber will email pdfs of invoices out to employees as well as set up a draft purchase in Xero.

Other Xero Connect partners

In addition to the 4 supplier mentioned earlier in this article, Xero Connect has other suppliers onboard. These include:

  • Actrol
  • Metaflex

Invoices can also be uploaded into Xero accounts through another Xero partner called Payreq MyBills. Currently these suppliers are predominatley city, shire and regional councils. In addition to the councils there are other Payreq MyBills suppliers such as:

  • Wunsch & Co
  • Word Flow
  • Specialised Pavement Services

Businesses that use Xero and accounts with these suppliers can find further information on how to connect at Xero Central.

How will this benefit my business?

If you are manually processing multiple invoices a month for suppliers that integrate with Xero Connect you need to act. Setting up accounts with these suppliers can lead to large savings in accounts payable processing time.
